Pamukkale is one of the most beautiful places in Turkey.
Its name means "cotton castle" in Turkish.
From far away, the hills look like soft white snow.
The white color comes from the water.
Warm water runs down the hill from hot springs.
The water is full of minerals, and over thousands of years they made hard white terraces.
Each terrace holds a little pool of blue water.
Visitors walk on the terraces without shoes.
This protects the white rock, and the warm water feels very nice on your feet.
At the top of the hill, you can see the ruins of an ancient city called Hierapolis.
There is also an old pool where people can swim among ancient stone columns.
The best time to visit is early in the morning or near sunset.
The light is soft, and there are fewer people.
Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a bottle of water, because the white rock can be very bright.
